In 1492, the seventh Lord of Palma commissioned the construction of this monastery in his will and testement. The discovery of americas is essential ijn the history of thi building, since the Franciscan monks that lived here founded mission in the New World bringing our Janguage and customs along With them. Among this mission was Palma de Rio in San Diego, site of an evangelical university. The monastic ensemble of church, porter's office infirmary and relectory consists of several naves among courtyards, orchards and a cemeteter, and more than five hundred monks were housed in itS cells. The Hotelis located amongst orange groves, in the fertile valley of the Guadalquivir river close to the Sierra Morena mountain range and its game preserves.
